Mental Health for Men in Ministry
Supporting One Another in Ministry
Here to Support Your Calling
Throughout my career and training as a medical doctor, I’ve witnessed the unique emotional and psychological needs of gospel ministers. The need to help them press on and keep up the good fight of faith has become increasingly evident. This burden crystallized when I had the opportunity to prevent the involuntary hospitalization of an evangelist simply for carrying out the Great Commission.
The systems of the world, whether medical or otherwise, can often seem inhospitable and unwelcoming to God’s people. Yet, God always makes a way and ensures that there is a remnant in the right place, with the right wisdom, at the right time. A physician must have not only a compassionate heart but also a well-informed mind to promote healing of the heart, mind, soul, and strength. I strive to practice psychiatry in a way that aligns with biblical principles, assisting those in need—especially when they don’t know where to turn for help.
Functional medicine offers a powerful approach to improving your body’s chemistry, helping address underlying imbalances that can impact your physical and emotional health. By focusing on personalized care, it supports optimal brain function, energy levels, and overall well-being. When your body is functioning at its best, you are better equipped to fulfill your calling, sustain the demands of ministry, and lead with clarity and strength. Integrating functional medicine with biblical wisdom allows you to care for the temple God has given you, ensuring that both body and spirit are aligned as you press on in your work for Christ’s kingdom.
